Where are you from?

I'm a local girl, hailing from Edwinstowe. I moved to Cardiff to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama before moving back home for work.

How long have you played the trombone?

I started playing the cornet in 1997, before moving on to the tenor horn and then the trombone in 2001.

What do you do other than band? 

I am a year 3 teacher at a local primary school. I also enjoy playing with my other band, the Nottinghamshire Band of the Royal Engineers, which is part of the Army Reserve.

What is your favourite piece of music?

Saint-Saëns - Symphony No. 3 (Organ Symphony) and Philip Sparke - Partita.

Have you played with any other bands?

Thoresby Colliery Junior Band, Burry Port Town Band, Newbridge Celynen Brass Band and Sherwood Forest Brass.

What is your most memorable banding experience?

Playing at St. David's Hall, Cardiff with the Cory Band.

What is the best thing about being part of Thoresby Colliery Band?

The people! Everyone is the band really get on well and really make coming to band a pleasure, and I've made so many good friends as a result of band.

What is your motto?

If you're too lazy to plow, don't expect a harvest.
